SUSTAINABILITY, TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT: FLUORSID PARTICIPATES IN THE SECOND IPCEI ON NEW GENERATION BATTERIES.

FLUORSID is among the companies participating in the second IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) on new generation batteries, an ambitious project that represents a strong accelerator for the sustainable development of the emerging European industry of electric mobility and energy storage, approved on Tuesday 26 January by the European Commission. The company participates in a project aimed at creating innovative solutions in the development and subsequent production of some fundamental raw materials in the production of lithium-ion batteries. The vision spins around the centrality that advanced and sustainable fluorine chemistry will increasingly have in the development of mobility and energy storage in the coming years. The project has gathered the consent of the European and national authorities and of the experts charged by them to sift worthy ideas to participate in the IPCEI. FLUORSID’s proposal is about its primary technological expertise in inorganic fluorine chemistry, developed in over 50 years of activity, which has led the Italian company to be a reference point in its markets globally. The geographical location of its assets makes FLUORSID the ideal actor to develop of a primary technological and production level platform subservient to the needs of raw materials in a sector – that of electric batteries – which will see a very strong development in Europe in the coming years. Participation in the IPCEI project is not only a reason for satisfaction for the prestigious consensus towards the project presented, but also an important recognition of public interest for the creation of a new European energy storage and mobility chain that is sustainable, ecological and innovative.
